I love a good blog space, and this is mine! Welcome! I’m Beckie and here at Woodfield Photography I create photographs that celebrate the people and  things you love. I’m also really into sharing about other awesome people and making big of the things that bring joy.

I’m a wedding and portrait photographer who creates colorful, bright, emotion filled images in California’s Central Valley and New Zealand. (Yeah, I know they’re half a world apart, but I call both home.)

Here I share my latest work, products I love, personal excursions, and helpful tips for getting the most out of your photos. If you have a question, recommendation, or see something you love, drop me a comment! <3

I'm back from New Zealand!! 🎉 I'll miss the win I'm back from New Zealand!! 🎉 I'll miss the windy coastal hikes (see above, haha), meat pies, and gorgeous scenery around every corner... but I've never been happier to be home. 💕 Did much happen the last 10 weeks? What did I miss? Anyone have any crazy life changes?
.
Technically, I flew home a week early to surprise @devthehawk and spend some time with him before work in California started. I've had a lowkey week, and now I'm officially home and ready to photograph all sorts of amazing people and businesses in April. (I'm also doing some video work this week for a private school which I'm so excited about!)
.
I notice I have a few new faces around here - welcome to my tiny but joy filled space on social media. I'm a people and brand photographer in Central California. I photograph in other places occasionally, which is why I've spent most of 2021 so far in a different country. I'm thrilled to have you following along - DM me if there's anything you'd like to see here or know about and I'll do my best to oblige. Hopefully we'll get to meet someday. <3
It’s been a hot minute of silence here because N It’s been a hot minute of silence here because New Zealand has NOT disappointed. This wedding was a true representation of the couple and a solid reminder that the wedding vibe should be a reflection of you and your personalities. (Also, very excited because the couple opted to do a day after portrait session and it was sooooo good)
.
I’ve also spent the last 8 weeks thinking about this business I love so much and how grateful I am for all my incredible clients. In the near future there’ll be a small shift here toward portraits and the way you use photos in everyday life - I get questions about printing, archiving, photo albums, etc and I’ll be talking more about that sort of thing.
.
I’ve also been photographing more brands lately, which is different and exciting. I’ve been hesitant to share that work here because it doesn’t seem to fit, and I’m working on the idea of separating portraits and branding photography on social media. I’m not going to lie, it feels very fragmented, but I know it would allow me to be more specific with what I post and how I market online.
.
All that to say, I’ve spent time thinking and sketching and planning for the next couple of years here at Woodfield Photography and I’m looking forward to being back in California next week with a list of things to implement. 👏🏻🎉
Hi guys! 🙋🏻‍♀️ I’m still in New Zeal Hi guys! 🙋🏻‍♀️ I’m still in New Zealand and chasing the sun with my camera... I’ll be bringing home lots of magical memories of my own as well as for others.
.
Did you know I’m a New Zealander? I moved to California when I was 14, so I don’t have much of an accent anymore. 😂 I love the days I get to spend in my home country, reconnecting with friends and family and that part of my heritage that’s embedded deep in my soul. ✨

A quick glimpse into @aliehansen’s maternity ses A quick glimpse into @aliehansen’s maternity session. 😍 I know these little clips I make are rough and don’t match my images (video doesn’t give a lot of wiggle room) but I love them so much!! 🥰 They’re the dollop of whipped cream on chocolate lava cake. 🎉 The perfect complement.
You look gorgeous as a mother to be @aliehansen 🥰🥰 I love the way you’ve matured and grown as a person while growing another little person inside you. I can’t wait to meet baby Hansen later this year. 👏🏻🙌🏻
.
Thank you for trusting me when I asked you to stand in the middle of a scratchy tree in the near dark on a cold night. It may have been the end of our session, but the images from this spot are my favorite. 🥰
