I love a good blog space, and this is mine! Welcome! I’m Beckie and here at Woodfield Photography I create photographs that celebrate the people and  things you love. I’m also really into sharing about other awesome people and making big of the things that bring joy.

I’m a wedding and portrait photographer who creates colorful, bright, emotion filled images in California’s Central Valley and New Zealand. (Yeah, I know they’re half a world apart, but I call both home.)

I’m in Monterey for a wedding this weekend with I’m in Monterey for a wedding this weekend with @carieharrisphotography and it’s feeling fully fall on the coast. I don’t know how to describe it better, but this time of year makes me feel cozy and kind of blurry and soft. This season of work quickly becomes a blur too as weddings, family sessions, and seniors overlap. So excited for the next couple of months and how many of you I get to photograph soon. 🤍🤍🤍

My littlest nephew - fresh to the world. 🥰🥰 My littlest nephew - fresh to the world. 🥰🥰 . Until I had my own baby, I didn’t realize that newborns pull themselves into a lot of the staged “poses” that you see in photos. They scrunch up their butts, tuck their hands under their chins, or cross their ankles all on their own. This little guy was fully relaxed with his head resting on folded hands - smiling even. 😂 It’s cool how we get glimpses of their personalities in the ways they move their bodies by instinct.
Today I turn 35 and celebrate 18 years since I got Today I turn 35 and celebrate 18 years since I got the camera that started it all. I can’t say thank you enough to everyone who’s hired me - especially this last year as I’ve juggled a new baby with some intentional growth in my process and work. (@devthehawk is an honorary employee with how much he’s helped!) . I’ve felt really connected to my work this year and as cliched as it is, I’m looking at the next season with so much excitement!!
They cried through the ceremony, danced the whole They cried through the ceremony, danced the whole reception, chased each other during portraits, kissed under fireworks, ran through sparklers, jumped in the pool, and were line dancing when I finally drove away at 11:30pm. . As a photographer who wants to capture all the emotion and movement, I will never get over this wedding. It was 100% Jacob and Madison! . More and more of my clients are embracing the joy and emotion in their wedding day and being unapologetically themselves. Planning an event that reflects you and lets you be emotionally present is the most exciting and meaningful “trend” I could hope for. Let’s do more of it! ❤️ .
